About me...

My name is Rebecca. But if you know me well enough, you'll know that nobody calls me that. See, like most Rebecca's, we have a name preference. Oh, it's true. Some Rebecca's prefer to be only called Rebecca. They are the ones that think Becky isn't a name that suits them. Others lean towards Becca. I warn you, this does not go over well with me. I once broke up with a boy because he kept calling me Becca. Don't worry, I was only in the 9th grade, I was immature and that may have been sort of an overreaction. I digress. I prefer to be called Becky. I feel Rebecca has only suited me at times, so I am mostly Becky...although...my husband spelled my name wrong in love letters, so actually the name "Bekki" has always suited me. That's another thing about Rebeccas. We always change the spelling of our name [be it Rebeckha, Bekkie, Beckie] we love to change the spelling of our name, don't ask me why, I'm only one of them...

I've named this blog Sweetly Steeped not only for my love for all kinds of tea, but mostly for my passion for my family. I believe whole heartedly that you should steep your soul so fully and sweetly into your family life, letting unconditional love for your husband, your children, and yourself be a part of everything you are; without loosing your sense of self, humanity, and humility.

In attempts to not be a cruel and neglectful mother, I only blog and relax during nap times, but those are few and far between, so some days get no posts at all. This doesn't mean I've forgotten, it just means I'm living and experiencing life. What good is blogging, if you have nothing to blog about?

FAMILY: MY GLUE
In December of 2001, I began dating my soulmate, Jason. And 7 years later, I married him. He is the most wonderful man on the planet, in these brownish-greenish eyes at least. He spoils me with his love unconditionally, and he has taught me so much about how to be the best ME I can be. Here he is with Chase, our oldest:

Even though Jason is my favorite boy, I have two other boys that can compete for my love all they want! I have two sons:

All three of these boys are blessings. And I try my hardest to remember to thank God for them daily.

Now, more about me!

I am just a stay at home wife and mommy. It's all I've ever wanted to be since I was a little girl. My barbies were are married and had kids.

I love to sip tea, lose myself in a book, and spend time with family and friends. I shop smarter thanks to years of practice and I love to cook. I give up on projects faster than it takes me to buy the materials, which I end up giving away. I can crochet but I don't as much as I wish I had time to. I love making soap, but I don't sell it. I keep it for my guest bathroom. Childishly, I love when company asks who made the soap...I know, I know.

I only have a handful of friends, but I believe that is all I am meant to have. I try to make them, but usually find out real fast, making friends and keeping them was easier as a child and I am no good at it.

I have no pets. I know, sad huh? I had a cat but gave her back to the shelter 5 years later because she hated it here and it wasn't fair to keep her. That and she kept peeing everywhere, hated my kids, and kept sneaking out and getting into fights.

I guess thats about all I can think of. All in all I have an amazing life, it gets lonesome at times with nobody to talk to but a toddler and a baby, but I try to at least get dressed and throw some makeup on before Jason has a chance to see me in a rut.

I am SO glad you came by. I hope you stick around!
